I never observed in my entire life a good bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan since the inception of Pakistan. The history of strained relationship is a quite long and sordid history. Ironically, Afghan vote against Pakistan's admission into the United Nation right after the independence would never be forgotten by the people of Pakistan.
This should never happen, it is against the norm of the civilized world. Amid territorial claim by the Afghanistan on larger Pashtun areas such as Swath and KPK for making a greater Pashtun State and Durand Line are the main issues of this conflict and hatred, which will never be settled a good mutual relationship.
It is dilemma the two neighboring countries are under constrained territorial disputes and conflicting claims, which prevented them normalization of bilateral ties throughout the mid-20th century. Also, water-sharing rights, and a continuously warming relationship between Afghanistan and India made hindrance and couldn’t established pleasant relationship between the two emerging States.
Every-one knows the main reasons of the real destruction of Afghanistan was due to the warring groups, who fought each other for years only to gain power.
Presence of Soviet Union in Afghanistan for a long period, then Talibanization, and finally American war strategy for 20 years is an opened book for every one not necessary to mention here.
The responsibility of proxy war cannot be put on the entire nation. It is an open fact that KSA, USA, USSR, Taliban and somehow Pakistan’s army are responsible for the destruction of Afghan soil and people for their vested interest as well. Still the clouds are so dark on the Pak Afghan borders. Afghan coal trade to Pakistan is one of the clearest example in the recent days.
The agony of dispute, hatred and defeat is not stopped yet. Taliban took another step to raise considerably Coal Prices amid booming exports to Pakistan. Taliban government has tripled prices for coal in less than a month to raise revenue from its mining sector amid coal exports to neighboring Pakistan. Initially it was 90 dollar per ton, now it has been raised coal prices to $280 per ton from $90 per ton.
We hope that the frequent exchange of cultural delegations, make people to people contact, close ties of trade and help of infrastructure would make some better environment in the context of cultural and political issues. We hope that both governments will also make a mutual agreement for showing good will gesture in every walk of life relates to the both countries.
